My name is Angela Harris, & I’m raising funds to help my parents, Beth & Robert Harris, cover the cost of a wheelchair-accessible van they recently had to purchase out of urgent need.

My Mom, Beth, is originally from the Philippines. She worked for many years as a nurse before rheumatoid arthritis & other health issues forced her to stop. In early 2025, she entered a nursing facility for back pain rehab, but after two serious falls in the facility & an emergency 12-hour neck surgery, she returned home unable to stand or transfer into a regular vehicle. Since then, she’s missed important medical care because we had no safe way to transport her. Our goal with this van is to safely transport her to her future medical appointments so she may eventually walk again.

My Dad, Robert, is a 20 year Navy veteran from Oklahoma. He’s been caring for my mom & has even delayed his own much-needed ankle surgery to stay by her side. Both of my parents are in their late 60s, and with increasing medical needs, safe & accessible transportation has become essential for their well-being.

This van will not only help us get my Mom to appointments safely while she stays in her wheelchair, but I’ll also be able to use it to help my Dad once he has his surgery.

Although my parents are covered by two types of insurance, neither of them offers any coverage for transportation — leaving us to pay for the van entirely out of pocket. The van is a lifeline for our family, but it’s also a big financial challenge. Any amount you can give — or simply sharing this page — would mean so much.
