I’ve started this fund to help a very sweet and hard working woman I work with. Beth is a seasonal employee I’ve worked with for the past 3 years. We got to talking last week, comparing our daily steps and truly, there is no comparison because she works in custodial and spends the entire day walking and sweeping outside. Beth then told me “That’s just my work steps, I walk 3 miles to work, then 3 miles home.”

Through the rest of our conversation, I learned that some time ago, she was in a serious automobile accident and as a result, had to have brain surgery. This left her having to re-learn speech and basic motor skills. While she had come a tremendous way, she will always be on medications to prevent clots & such. These cost her around $400 monthly.

Beth shared that she was trying to save money to purchase an electric bike and this, currently is her biggest goal. While she works all the hours she can, saving is very tough and on rare occasions she has to Uber to work, which comes out of her e-bike savings.

My goal is to raise $2500 so Beth can get a good quality electric bike, along with necessities such as a helmet, lights, lock and possibly even an extended warranty.
