Dear friends, tomorrow morning, I'll be running for my life and I need your support.

Tomorrow morning I'll wake up early for a yet another trip to the hospital. This time, it's only a Covid test, which is preparation for a larger operation I'm having on Monday. This time around it's "only" preventative surgery and the goal is to try to avoid get cancer again. I think it sucks that I have to do this, I think it's unfair but I'm also very grateful that I know about my BRCA gene and can do something about it. I'll recovering for about 3 months after this operation.

Tomorrow is also the start of the Pink Month, a period where we raise awareness and funds for breast cancer causes. So tomorrow morning, when I'm done with my test, I plan to run from the Karolinska Hospital back home in Saltsjöbaden, for the total of 21 KM. I have never run 21K in my life before so I thought it would make a nice milestone before I become a patient yet again. It's only 11 months since I finished my cancer treatment and even though it has permanently changed me, I refuse to let it define me.

Tomorrow is the beginning of my Pink Month mission, and I intend to kick it off with my longest run ever, then have my operation, recover and hopefully end the month with running again. During this month, while I'm recovering, I will be looking into a BRCA gene causes that I want to support and I would be forever grateful if you would support this mission with me. I've started a Go-fund-Me page that I'll keep live throughout October and I would be very happy if you would be willing to chip in a cup of coffee. You can think of it as the cup of coffee, you and I, didn't get to share during the Pandemic. If you can't envision a cup of coffee, think a yummy ice-cream, cocktail, champagne, or perhaps a night of korean karaoke shenanigans (you know who you are!).
With my mission I want to support this cause as I'm hoping that others with the BRCA gene will not have share my fate. Too many of us have died, too many have lost their mothers, wifes and daughters.

So darlings, check your boobs, please support my cause and/or the Pink Ribbon and stay safe!
Love,
Beta
