Help Best Friends Ella & Matilda Reach Gothia Cup Sweden 2027
⚽ Two Best Friends. One Incredible Opportunity. One Big Dream.
Hi everyone,
We are fundraising to help two determined 13-year-old girls from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, achieve something truly special.
Best friends Ella and Matilda have been selected to represent United Football Collective at the Gothia Cup 2027 in Sweden – the world's largest and most prestigious youth football tournament.
For many young footballers, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To be selected is an incredible achievement. To experience it alongside your best friend makes it even more special.
Their football journeys have been remarkable.
Matilda has been playing football for nearly five years, while Ella only started playing two and a half years ago. Despite starting later, Ella has worked tirelessly to develop her game and both girls now play for:
• LLFC
• Shrewsbury Town FC Girls Development Squad
• Shrewsbury Up & Comers
• Wolves Advanced Player Programme
After attending trials in Kidderminster, they earned their places in the United Football Collective squad heading to Sweden in 2027.
The Gothia Cup brings together thousands of young players from across the globe, creating an unforgettable experience of football, friendship and personal growth.
The cost of this opportunity is significant. The total cost for the girls and their parents will be close to £8,000. Our fundraising target is £4,000 to cover the girls' participation costs, approximately £2,000 each.
This will help fund:
⚽ Tournament entry fees
⚽ Travel to Sweden
⚽ Accommodation and meals for 7 days
⚽ Coaching and preparation sessions
⚽ Nutrition programmes
⚽ Match and training kit
⚽ Tracksuits and tournament clothing
⚽ Pre-tournament training
We will also be organising fundraising events, cake sales and community activities over the coming months to help reach our goal.
For Ella, football is more than just a sport. Her dream is to one day play for Arsenal. Her Grandad, now 84 years old, has supported Arsenal his entire life, and it would mean the world to both of them if she could continue chasing that dream.
For Matilda, the goal is simple: she wants to become the strongest winger the Lionesses have ever seen.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help these two talented young girls represent their community, create lifelong memories and continue pursuing their dreams.
If you are unable to donate, sharing our page would mean just as much.
Thank you for believing in Ella and Matilda and helping two best friends from Shrewsbury take on the world together.
❤️ Thank you for your support.
