My husband, Bertrum Kelley Jr, was put on the transplant list for a small intestine on February 5. This transplant is extremely rare and, unfortunately, it can't be performed here in Houston, Texas. The only place where Bertrum can receive this life-saving procedure is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, under the care of Dr. Cruz. Earlier, in October, Bertrum suffered a heart attack and was given just 24 hours to live. Against all odds, he pulled through, but now the transplant is his only hope to prolong his life.
The costs are overwhelming. Bertrum's out-of-pocket expenses for the transplant, travel back and forth between Houston and Pittsburgh, and ongoing medications are more than we can manage alone. Every bit of support will help us get closer to giving Bertrum the chance he deserves.
We are asking for support at this time to help my husband receive his transplant. Any help you can give means the world to us. He is my best friend and my everything, and I will continue to fight by his side. Thank you for your donations and your continuous prayers for my husband.
