My name is Bertram Grey, but most people know me as Ten Ten. I live in Amity District, Seaford Town, in Westmoreland, Jamaica, and I’m reaching out to you today with a humble heart, asking for your kindness and support in a very difficult time.

Over the past months, my life has completely changed. I lost both of my legs some time ago, and I live every day with diabetes and seizures. It has been hard to manage, but I’ve always tried to stay strong, to keep my faith, and to make the best of what I have. But now, I am truly struggling.

The recent hurricane that hit Jamaica destroyed my home completely. I have nothing left — no roof over my head, no furniture, no clothes besides what I could grab, and no food. I am also running out of the medication that I need to control my diabetes and seizures. Without it, my health is in serious danger.

I have no steady income and no way to rebuild on my own. Every day has become a fight just to find something to eat and somewhere safe to rest. I am trying not to lose hope, but I need help to survive and to start again.

My daughter, Venecia Grey, who lives in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has set up this GoFundMe on my behalf to help me get back on my feet. The funds raised will go directly toward buying my medication, food, and materials to rebuild my home.
