Like many other small businesses, our daughter's beloved school Bernice and Joe Playschool, is feeling the financial effects of the shelter in place order.  

Bernice and Joe Playschool was started in 1980 with the philosophy that play is not a dirty word, but in fact is key for children to learn.  Forty years later this is still the philosophy of the program as our two year old daughter comes home filthy and happy every day! In her short time there she's made huge strides with her verbal skills, learned her ABCs and how to count!

We love this school and the wonderful teachers so much.  We feel so grateful to have found it and hope that our daughter can continue to thrive there until she starts Kindergarten.

Our goal for this campaign is to raise as much money as we can to keep the school afloat through the shelter in place and rebuilding period once they are able to resume operating at normal capacity.  This playschool is truly a one of a kind gem in Oakland and we want future kids to be able to have the experience of being a Bernice and Joe kid.
