Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for support for my beloved husband, Bernard. Many of you know Bernard’s story, and for those who may not, I want to share a glimpse of his incredible journey.

Diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme IV, an aggressive brain cancer, 21 years ago, Bernard has bravely endured seven brain surgeries, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, physical therapy, speech therapy and home health treatments. Our medical insurance has been crucial, but his journey has also involved integrative therapies like herbal supplements and acupuncture to slow his hemiparalysis.

Despite our efforts, Bernard’s mobility has recently declined, and he now relies on a wheelchair. However, we recently received hope from Dr. Lisa Pascual at UCSF, who recommended Bioness devices for Bernard’s right leg and hand. These devices could significantly improve his mobility and quality of life. Unfortunately, the cost of $11,580 is not covered by insurance.

Bernard has shown us the true meaning of strength and determination. It is my hope that, with your help, we can provide him with the tools he needs to continue his fight and maintain his dignity and independence.
