We need your help to keep our clinic — your clinic — alive as a vital resource for the holistic health of the community. We are making progress on putting the clinic on a stronger financial footing. In addition to operating our practice, we are partnering with community groups and educational institutions to push back against cutbacks from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). It has been very damaging that CMS sets such low rates for physical therapy services. These low reimbursement rates also influence the other insurance companies who follow suit. This CMS policy of divestment over the past thirty years has resulted in many of our independent clinics going under. We need your help to meet our financial needs as we combat these destructive policies which harm the health and wellbeing of our community.
In collaboration with our community partners, we have applied for several grants to help us research and document the link between the ongoing cutbacks and the adverse effects on the community’s well-being. We have taken on the challenge of reversing this long standing divestment. This divestment has affected our community profoundly with the loss of many independently owned outpatient clinics. Concurrently and sadly, our community members line the streets with physical impairments that go untreated due to deep seated lack of access to P.T.
