My name is Berhane Kidane Fessehatzion, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart and a great need for support. In October 2024, I underwent life-saving brain surgery to remove a tumor.

While the surgery was a success, the journey since then has been a grueling and expensive fight. I have been in and out of the hospital countless times and am currently confined to my bed at home as I continue my intensive recovery.

The Financial Crisis

For months, I have been focused solely on healing. I used all of my saved money to cover the necessary home-care costs and Expense Unfortunately, those savings are now completely exhausted, and I can no longer cover our basic living expenses.

This crisis has been compounded because my dear wife, who is my greatest support, cannot work. She has sacrificed her job to be my full-time, 24-hour caregiver. She handles all my nursing needs, appointments, and daily care, which makes it impossible for her to hold a job.

We are a family focused entirely on recovery, but we are now facing the terrifying reality of not being able to pay for the roof over our heads or the continued need.

We are setting a goal of $30,000 to cover the next one year of essential costs, allowing my wife to continue caring for me without the crushing stress of financial ruin.

The funds raised will go directly toward:

Essential Living Expenses: Rent payments, utility bills, special transportation and groceries.

Replacing the lost income from my wife so she can continue to be my nurse and advocate without having to choose between work and my health.
