Bereket is currently in the hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, after being deeply affected by the ongoing war in Mekelle. The conflict has not only disrupted his life but has also left him battling stage 5 kidney failure, a critical and life-threatening condition. His doctors have said that it is very difficult to help him at this stage, but they are doing everything they can. There is a possibility that he may need to travel out of the country to receive the specialized care he needs to survive.
