For generations, the sea has shaped life on the small Caribbean island of Bequia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Many of our children's parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents earned their living on the water as sailors, fishermen, and boat builders. That proud maritime tradition continues through the Junior Sailing Academy Bequia (JSAB).

JSAB is a non-profit organization that gives young people ages 8–18 the opportunity to discover the joy of sailing while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience. For many of our sailors, the Academy is more than a place to learn a sport—it is a place where they find purpose, friendships, mentors, and the confidence to believe in themselves.

Our sailors have worked hard all season and have earned the opportunity to represent Bequia at the Caribbean Dinghy Championship in St. Maarten this coming October. Competing at this level gives them invaluable experience, allows them to build friendships with sailors from across the Caribbean, and inspires them to pursue their goals with confidence.

For our team, this isn't simply another regatta. It's the chance to proudly carry St Vincent and the Grenadine's flag, gain invaluable regional racing experience, create lifelong friendships, and show our young sailors that dedication and perseverance can open doors to opportunities they never imagined.

As a small non-profit organization, however, the cost of travel is our biggest obstacle. Airfare, ferry transportation, accommodation, meals, regatta fees, and transporting equipment quickly add up, making this opportunity difficult for many of our families.
That's why we're asking for your help.

Every donation—no matter the amount—brings our sailors one step closer to the starting line. Your generosity will help provide the travel, accommodations, and competition expenses needed to make this dream a reality.

When you support JSAB, you're doing more than helping young athletes attend a championship. You're investing in the future of Bequia's youth. You're helping children develop skills that will serve them for life, preserving our island's rich maritime heritage, and giving young people the confidence to dream bigger than they ever thought possible.

If you're unable to donate, you can still make a tremendous difference by sharing our campaign with your family, friends, and colleagues.

From all of our sailors, coaches, volunteers, and families, thank you for believing in our young people. Your support will help them proudly represent Bequia and inspire the next generation of sailors to follow in their wake.

Kind regards,
Junior Sailing Academy Bequia (JSAB)
