Late last week, I noticed that there was a change in behavior with my 5-year-old bully, Bentley. He wasn’t acting like himself. Considering that his dad just left us for the military, I figured he was still just adjusting to the shift.
Things took a turn quickly over the weekend. Bentley was seen at the emergency vet and then followed up with his vet, where they discovered a “foreign body” in his intestine. Things escalated, and he became emergent and ended up on the operating table quicker than planned when his intestines twisted into one another and tied into a knot, essentially cutting off blood flow and causing a perforation in his small intestine. What was supposed to be a 30-minute surgery turned into a 3-hour procedure in which we almost lost him a few times. He’s with us and in critical condition but has a long road to recover fully.
While not typically one to ask for help, operating on one income while my husband is gone and I am here taking care of our 5-month-old, this unforeseen expense hits hard. I couldn’t just let my buddy go though. If you feel led to donate, anything helps, and in the event you’re financially unable, any prayers or shares help just as much. Thank you for your consideration, and thank you, Jesus, my boy is still here with us
