Help a Hardworking 14-Year-Old Grow His Lawn Care Business

I wanted to share something I’m incredibly proud of as a mom.

My 14-year-old son, Bentley, has discovered a passion for lawn care and landscaping. Rather than spending his summers sitting inside, he’s been out mowing lawns, learning about business, and working hard to build something of his own.

Last year, he saved up and purchased his own equipment, including a push mower, weed eater, and leaf blower. Since then, he’s been taking on lawn care jobs and learning what it means to earn money through hard work and dedication.

This year, his goal is to expand his small business by purchasing a riding mower. A riding mower would allow him to take on larger properties, work more efficiently, and continue growing the business he has worked so hard to build.

What makes me especially proud is that he hasn’t just hoped for opportunities—he’s gone after them. He has personally written emails to mower companies asking for support, donations of older equipment, or discounted models. He’s even picked up the phone and spoken directly with business owners and company representatives. While he hasn’t found a mower yet, one local company was kind enough to offer him a significant discount, bringing the cost down to approximately $3,200.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help him move closer to his goal. If he doesn’t reach the full amount needed for the discounted mower, the funds will still help him purchase a more affordable used riding mower and continue building his business.

Most importantly, this isn’t about giving a teenager a handout—it’s about encouraging a young entrepreneur who is willing to work hard, take initiative, and chase his goals.
