Bentley has been a cherished part of my life since I was 19, and he’s truly a member of our family. Recently, Bentley began having trouble breathing. He has a collapsed trachea as small dogs are prone to it, but every doctor we visited thought it was just inflammation. We followed all the advice and gave him the prescribed medication, hoping he would get better. But one night after Sunday dinner, Bentley collapsed in our arms—his body went limp, his breathing stopped, and his tongue started to turn blue. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where they were able to revive him and get his breathing steady again. X-rays revealed that his trachea is severely collapsed, and now we’re faced with a heartbreaking decision: either pursue a surgery to have a stent put in, or say goodbye far too soon.

The funds raised here will go directly toward Bentley’s surgery and the care he’ll need to recover. Bentley’s 8th birthday is coming up, and we want nothing more than to celebrate many more years with him. He means the world to us, and we’re not ready to let him go.
