Please help. Benny was evicted two days before Thanksgiving by a greedy landlord who decided to sell and gave him very little time to move.
Hello - I have never setup a GoFundMe, but I figure this is the sort of thing for which it exists. Benny Walker is a 71 senior citizen here in Kennesaw. He is a well known and loved member of the community. Many know Benny from his time spent in the front of Publix, Kroger and Dollar Tree. He is never there to ask for anything. He just loves people. He is well known for giving lollipops to children, dollar bills, smiles and prayers. I first met Benny just goofing around joking and we became friends. Many years later, he needs our help.
Benny, through no fault of his own, was evicted two days before Thanksgiving. Although he always paid his rent on time, his landlord is selling the house. He rented one room. We are attempting to find him more permanent residence, but that takes time. We have reached out to over a dozen organizations and are awaiting responses now. We got his things put into storage today.
Any donations will be SINCERELY appreciated. He is on a very meager fixed income of SS and it is impossible to find housing for the $550 he's been paying for years. Your donations will be used for housing and food while we search for a more permanent solution.
If anyone knows of an organization that can help with a more permanent solution - please reach out to me. All advice is appreciated. Thank you very much.
