For: BENNIE FRANKER SEJNOHA - Help! (From Family & Friends)
Bennie has been battling POTS and continuing health problems for the last few years. In June, she was admitted to the ER as she was noticeably jaundiced. Bennie was given the devastating news that her liver is failing. The doctor was blunt and to the point with his words. The damage that has occurred to Bennie’s liver is considered end-stage liver disease. Autoimmune diseases are harsh and move quickly.
The situation has been touch and go to find a balance of comfort and aggressively drilling down on her care to stabilize her to move forward.
It is a lot of heavy news all at once for Bennie and her family.
Accepting the new “normal” isn’t easy. She has had continued transfusions (blood, vitamin K, albumin, plasma, etc.) along with diuretics, antibiotics, and detoxifiers. She needs 24-hour care, assistance with everything she does, a regime of continuing meds as long as her little arms, a complete change in diet, and countless other adjustments in how she lives life.
There is a ton of anxiety about what comes next. Our girl is a fighter though, and the doctors see it. She is scheduled at a transplant clinic for a 2-day appointment upcoming. The 1st appointment is testing to make sure (outside of her liver) that she is healthy enough for a transplant and meeting the team. The head of the department SEES her and is fighting for and with her. There is a LONG way to go to the finish line.
Bennie isn’t on this journey alone; we are all with her every step we can be.
To ease the burden and financial strain, please donate to cover day-to-day expenses and medical costs. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and will be deeply appreciated. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Bennie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
