Bennett is doing great! We're back at our hotel now, just relaxing. He made friends with every single staff member he interacted with today — they all absolutely loved him!

Update on Bennett 9/4/25

Today was Bennett's elevidys gene therapy treatment. Bennett handled it well with lots of energy. In the hours after the treatment, during the monitoring period he was a little nauseous. The next week will be important in monitoring for side effects.

Update on Bennett 8/28/25

Today, Bennett starts steroids to help prepare his little body for gene therapy. This is an important step, but it also comes with some tough side effects. Please keep Bennett and his mama in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this part of the journey.

Kia is a hardworking single mom raising her little boy, Bennett, who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. On September 3, they have to travel from Idaho to Seattle so Bennett can receive gene therapy, a treatment that gives him hope for a stronger future.

This isn’t just a quick trip. They’ll need to stay in Seattle for two weeks while he undergoes treatment and follow-up care. As you can imagine, the costs add up fast — travel, gas, meals, and time away from work. For a single mom, that financial burden is overwhelming.

We are setting this fundraiser goal at $5,000 to help cover travel, housing, food, and other expenses so she can focus fully on supporting her son through this life-changing therapy.
