Hi, my name is Bennerita “Benne” Martinez. I’m 58 years old, and I’m humbly asking for your help.

Right now, I need two knee replacements – but because of my medical condition, traditional surgery isn’t safe for me. I have been living with Chronic Cellulitis and Lymphedema since 1999, after giving birth. Lymphedema is a rare condition (1 in 1000 people) that causes my lymphatic system to not drain properly, leaving me vulnerable to serious infections from even the smallest cut, scratch, or bite. I've been in and out of the hospital countless of times to count due to this.

The pain in my knees is constant. I’m bone-on-bone in my left inner knee and right outer knee. It’s getting worse every single day. Walking is becoming nearly impossible, and without help, I’ll end up in a wheelchair permanently.

When I talked to my doctor about knee replacements, I was told it’s too risky for me. If I were to get an infection after surgery, I could lose my legs. The only option left for me is stem cell therapy – a much safer, non-surgical approach. But the problem is: insurance doesn’t cover it. Not mine, not anyone’s. It costs about $7,000-$8,000 per knee, and I need both done.

This is something I never imagined myself having to do, but I have no other choice. I’m reaching out and asking for help – from family, friends, and even kind-hearted strangers – to please help me raise the $18,000 I need to walk again and live pain-free.
