Benji is almost 4 and has cerebral palsy from a brain injury at birth. He can’t sit, stand, walk, talk, or use his hands independently. Things that come naturally to most kids can take him months or even years of repetition and hard work.
Over the past year, DMI and intensive therapy have become such a big part of Benji’s journey. We’ve watched him gain more intentional movement, use his hands more, respond to cues, and even begin purposefully moving his legs to step in his gait trainer. Every bit of progress may look small from the outside, but for Benji, these are huge accomplishments.
Earlier this year, we raised money for Benji to receive stem cells and continue intensive therapy. Since then, we’ve continued to see positive changes, and we want to keep building on that progress while he’s young and his brain is still developing.
Stem cells aren’t a cure, and no one can predict Benji’s future. Our goal has always been to give him as many opportunities so he can reach his full potential.
We’re raising money to help Benji receive another round of stem cells and continue intensive therapy. If you can’t donate, sharing his story helps us more than you know.
