Around Christmas, our dog Benji suddenly started acting scared and in pain. He began growling when we came near him. Then, on a walk, he curled into a tight C shape. We rushed him to the vet for X-rays, blood work, and medications. They suspected a pinched nerve or strained neck, but nothing obvious showed on the X-ray. His potassium was low, and they mentioned his heart might look slightly enlarged, though they were not sure. After starting the medication, Benji changed completely. He barely ate or drank and became a shell of himself, like he was not even there. We tried easing off the meds to bring him back, but tonight he started having seizures, and we rushed him to the ER. He is now on IV fluids and seizure medication. The doctors want to keep him overnight and are urging a neurologist because it could be something serious, possibly a brain issue. We still do not have answers. We love Benji more than we can explain, and watching him suffer has been heartbreaking. If you can donate or share, you are helping us keep him stable, get answers, and give him a real chance to recover.
