Help Benjamin Save His Sight
Donation protected
My name is Evelyn Estrada. My son Benjamín has been diagnosed with a condition called Keratoconus. It is a condition that affects his cornea, making his vision very blurry, and it will continue to get worse to the point of him needing a cornea transplant if left untreated. He will also progressively lose his vision until he cannot see at all. He is scheduled to have surgery in one eye on January 6th. The procedure is called cross-linking, and in order to have it, he needs a medication that will help stop the damage that has already happened. This medication, however, is not covered by our insurance, and the price is VERY high. It costs just under $5,000.00.
After the procedure, he needs light therapy along with the medication, and once his eye heals, he will need a hard contact lens that isn’t covered by our insurance either.
Once the first eye is done and healed, he will need to do it all over again on the second eye. And we will once again have to buy the medication in order for him to do the light therapy again.
Benjamin is 20 years old, he is an amazing young man who loves his family and his church family. He is an A student and loves to help others. As his mom, I want to make sure he gets this surgery and treatment so that he will not continue to lose his sight. He has a whole lifetime ahead of him, and he deserves to live his life to the fullest—with his eyesight intact. Please consider helping Benjamín during his time of critical need.
