On the evening of July 8, a wildfire that started miles up the road quickly made its way into Vantage. Fueled by strong winds, the fire changed direction rapidly, while power surges and water surges made it incredibly difficult for firefighters to contain. Every home but two was saved and one of those homes belonged to Benjamin. In a matter of hours Benjamin lost everything. Not a single personal belonging was saved. Everything he owned was gone, leaving him with nothing but the clothes he was wearing. And yet, instead of focusing on his own devastating loss, Benjamin spent the entire night helping fight the fires and looking out for others, even though he no longer had a home to return to. That is simply who Benjamin is. If you've had the privilege of knowing Benjamin, you know he is one of the kindest, selfless, most genuine people you'll ever meet. He leads with humility, integrity, and a servant's heart. Benjamin consistently puts others before himself, choosing faithfulness over convenience and showing up without hesitation whenever someone is in need. He would truly give the shirt off his back for a stranger and has spent years pouring into the lives of others and quietly serving without expecting anything in return. Now, it's our turn to surround him with the same love and generosity he has shown so many. Every donation, prayer, and share will help Benjamin begin rebuilding after losing his home and everything inside it. Because he did not have insurance, he is facing the overwhelming task of starting completely from scratch. Thank you for loving him well during this incredibly difficult season. We are deeply grateful for every act of kindness, every prayer, and every ounce of support and asking to cover the whole Stockdale family in prayer during this time.
