G'day, my names Ben aka Beniisquiggles, an artist/muralist originating from Falls Creek, Australia.
I've been heaps stoked to spend this past summer living and adventuring Kimberley and ultimately the Kootenays. An amazing opportunity (a giant canvas) as been gifted to me on the local Youth Center building.
This is a design I created earlier this summer, inspired by my first tour up to the iconic Lady's Leg which can be seen from town. I reimagined a late winters afternoon from the slope overlooking the expanse of the Columbia Valley.
Unfortunately funding is difficult to come by for such projects. I've exhausted every other avenue and now I'm here. I very much understand everyone is feeling this cost of living crisis, I'm in the same boat! But that shouldn't have to mean the arts suffer too, they are an important cornerstone of any communities culture.
This will be, by a great magnitude, the biggest mural I've ever applied myself to. I am willing and am going to be donating my time to this project, but financially, I will struggle with paint/supplies and equipment. This is where your generosity comes into play.
I want to create something for your gem of a town can be proud of, anything you are willing to donate will be graciously accepted. Big or small and everything in-between. The power of the collective is always the strongest. Think of it as an investment into the future of Kimberley. Even if you are not of this area, investing in the arts is always a wise choice.
I appreciate your support and I know your fellow neighbours will too. Help me help you!
With love, Beniisquiggles.
Ps-Please be aware due to the timing of approvals, my window to paint this before winter is small, and I may not complete it until spring time. But I do promise it will be finished.
