Back in April, my life changed forever. What started as a serious infection led to multiple emergency surgeries and, ultimately, the amputation of my right leg below the knee. Since then, I’ve spent months recovering from being in the hospital, fighting through pain, healing, and working hard in physical therapy.

I’m not being able to provide for my family or even do the simplest things at home has been incredibly difficult. Our townhouse has two flights of stairs, which has become a daily struggle.

I am now in the process of receiving a prosthetic leg, which will give me the chance to regain independence, walk again, and get back to being the dad and husband my family needs. Unfortunately, the cost is far more than I can handle right now, especially since I haven’t been able to work since my amputation.
