Benard Gjeci (25) underwent a 6-hour emergency open-heart surgery on April 6, 2026, due to a severe heart infection and a damaged aortic valve. He is currently in the ICU in critical condition.

In addition to recovering from surgery, he is battling serious complications, including RSV, pneumonia, and kidney failure. His road to recovery will be long and challenging.

Benard came to America just two years ago, chasing the American Dream. Just as he began building a better future, he was faced with a life-threatening health crisis that will take time, strength, and support to overcome.
