Hello everyone,
A good friend of ours Ben Mitford-Taylor, was dealing with what he thought was vertigo (from his regular GPs diagnosis) since December 2024 and was receiving physio treatment for that whilst he was waiting for a referral to an ENT to investigate his symptoms further. after doing an MRI in March, that's when everything changed for Ben there was a golf ball size tumor detected in his cerebellum
Ben had surgery on the 23rd April 2025, and although the surgeon did an incredible job and removed the whole tumor, the biopsy showed that it was not the benign tumor we were all hoping for, but instead a cancerous tumor called a Medulloblastoma which is an uncommon and aggressive tumor in adults.
Post-surgery Ben is facing numerous challenges including: double vision, balance, coordination & speech issues which don’t allow him to return to work. Ben is having to learn how to walk and talk again and do extensive therapy to help with this.
Along with all of this, Ben now faces 6 weeks of radiation followed by 6-8 months of chemotherapy to try to remove any remaining cancer cells that may be travelling through his body that could allow another tumor to grow.
During this treatment & rehab, it is unknown when Ben can return to work, and for all of you that know Ben, this is very frustrating and hard for Ben, this comes with financial concerns for him & his partner Sophie whilst going through his cancer treatment, including medical bills, therapy, living costs with no income from Ben.
The Ben that his friends and family knows and loves is still with us, he is just feeling a bit disconnected from his body at the moment and has a long road of treatment and recovery ahead of him.
This is a chance for us to show our support to Ben and his partner Sophie in this difficult time, Ben remains the same strong, kind person we all know—just facing a tough road ahead. Let’s come together to support Ben and Sophie through this journey. Every bit of help counts.
Thankyou!
