Starting over is scary. After losing most of my possessions in a flood at my storage space, I found myself with almost nothing and no insurance to help. Since 2018, I’ve been bouncing from one living situation to another—seven different places in Henrico alone. Now, I’m finally moving into an apartment that I hope will be the last place I ever have to call 'new.'

I live on a very limited income and am on disability for a host of health issues, including a recent cancer diagnosis. The stress of not having stable housing has only made my health struggles harder. My church community has been a blessing, giving me a couch and a bedroom set, and I’ve managed to buy most of the essentials myself. But I’ve run out of money before I could finish making my apartment a true home. On top of that, my car—though reliable—needs repairs to pass inspection this month. A friend has offered to do the work for a fraction of what a shop would charge, but I still need help covering the cost.

Having a stable home and a working car would lift a huge weight off my shoulders and help me focus on my health and well-being. The Lord has provided for me in so many ways, often through the kindness of others.
