Help Ben pay medical bills & kick cancer’s butt
Donation protected
Hey everybody!
A few weeks ago my brother Ben went to get seen for a suspicious lump in his neck. After a biopsy and some tests, it was determined to be a cancerous tumor. Specifically, Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
We were all pretty shocked and upset, including Ben, but the reality (and good news) is that if this particular type of cancer is treated, Ben can be cured. So, we are rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. Ben starts his first chemotherapy treatment on November 15th.
Obviously with any extensive medical treatment comes the question of finances and being able to cover the expenses.
Luckily Ben has health insurance, but is still required to pay 30% of the cost of treatments (after a $3000 deductible which was already well beyond met with just the diagnostic tests so far). Ben will be getting a chemotherapy port put in tomorrow (November 10th) and even with insurance he will have to pay over $1500 out of his pocket. And the journey has only just begun.
The fundraising goal of $6000 is probably just the tip of the iceberg. Not only will Ben have to cover costs of all the expensive treatments, but he’ll also have to take a hit from potentially taking days off of work, which makes an already stressful situation even more so. If you know Ben, I’m sure he’s made you laugh a time or two (or twelve). He didn’t ask for, and doesn’t deserve to have to deal with any of this. If you have the means to donate, it would mean the world to Ben and my family. We will make updates and adjustments to the go fund me page as the treatments progress. Thank you so much!!!!
