My 35 yr old son Ben has received devastating news that he has colon cancer.
They did a CAT scan and determined that he is at Stage 3. So far the prognosis is
hopeful in that his oncologist feels that with an aggressive treatment of
chemotherapy and radiation this can be beat. It all seems to be going pretty
quickly as he went in for a biopsy and was admitted for a chemotherapy port and
infection therapy.
He is in quite a bit of pain making work quite difficult but had been pushing
through hoping that the ointments given as first level treatment would remedy the
issues. His caregiver/partner is also not taking the news well. They are both very
afraid but holding each other close.
They will have substantial medical costs but have an immediate need to cover monthly
bills (some now overdue). They have both been losing hours of work for doctor
appointments. There have been days of intense pain that Ben has, leaving him suffering and unable to work.
I live in Oregon and my son lives in Pennsylvania making this situation even harder. Anything would be of great help to them.
