Help Ben Lockett Battle Cancer #BensBattle

On December 10th 2022 Benjamin James Lockett stopped in Nashville on his way to his new destination, Indiana. It was there that he noticed a strange tingling in his left testicle. By then he had driven over 2,100 miles from Nevada, so he attributed it to that. Soon after, in early February, he noticed a mass in his lower abdomen, thinking it was swollen flesh from a hernia or something. The discomfort turned to significant pain on February 21st, so he went to Urgent Care the next day and received a referral for a CT scan in Fort Wayne IN. The following day, on the 23rd, he received the CT. The results were sent to his primary physician in Nevada that evening who contacted Ben right away to order him to immediately, and without delay, get to the Emergency Room for blood thinners and treatment. He then admitted himself into the ER that night. On Friday the 25th they removed his left testicle due to testicular cancer. On Monday February 28th they had the spots on his liver biopsied and awaited results. He was discharged from the hospital on March 1st with Stage 4 Testicular/Liver Cancer. The pain increased to the point where sleep was impossible and comfort was nonexistent, so on March 9th they contacted his oncologist who to directed him to double up on his pain meds and to go back to the ER. That evening they started Ben on an aggressive chemo where he’s given an IV bag of chemo medicine for 5 days in a row as an inpatient and then a shot on day 6 to begin his outpatient. After 2 weeks as an outpatient they want him to readmit as an inpatient to do the same process over again. They’re hoping that by mid-June his pain will subdue, the tumor will shrink, and he can discontinue that particular revolving regimen and reassess his options.

Through all of this Ben remains resilient and hopeful. His attitude is good, and he is very thankful for all of the prayers and assistance. What little insurance Ben has will not be enough to cover these massive expenses, so we’re asking for monetary donations any amount, even if it’s $1. Ben’s family thanks everyone for their help, and especially for their prayers as we all lift Benjamin James Lockett up to his Creator God in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
