Ben is a dear friend of mine, and for 40 years I’ve seen firsthand the kindness and dedication he’s shown to others. For three decades, Ben has taught children around the world and in the toughest parts of Compton, always giving his all to help shape future generations. Now, Ben needs our help.
Last year, Ben lost his job as a 4th grade teacher. While moving out of his apartment to relocate, he developed a severe and lingering pain in his back—an affliction that doctors have yet to find a remedy for. This pain has made it impossible for him to work, and as a result, he’s run out of money. Ben is now living in his car with his loyal dog, facing each day with uncertainty. To make matters worse, his car—the only shelter he has left—is in need of major repairs. The mechanic has warned that it could fail at any moment unless the work is done, and losing it would be catastrophic for Ben and his dog.
Ben’s hope is to return to teaching once his health improves, but right now, he needs a helping hand to get through this difficult time. The funds raised will go toward repairing his car, covering basic monthly expenses, and helping him stay safe and functional while he seeks medical answers. Living in a car is hard enough, but living on the streets in this level of pain would be far worse. Ben has always been proud and it took some convincing for him to allow this fundraiser, so we’re keeping his identity private to protect his dignity. Any contribution, no matter the size, is so appreciated. If you can’t give financially, your prayers and good vibes mean the world. Please consider sharing this with others who might want to help this holiday season. Thank you for being part of Ben’s support system and for bringing hope when it’s needed most.
