Hi everyone,

I am reaching out on behalf of my brother Ben and his three kids after a fire destroyed their home this past weekend.

On Friday night, just as he was finishing a week of coaching at a strings camp, Ben received a text that his home was on fire. He raced home to find multiple emergency vehicles in his cul-de-sac. The interior of his house has been deemed uninhabitable, destroyed by what is assumed to be an electrical fire (the source of which is still unknown)

We are so thankful for the neighbours who called 911, for the first responders who put out the fire quickly, and for the Lord's protection over the roof of Ben's home, his cello, and--most importantly--his family, none of whom were in the house at the time.

Rebuilding is estimated to take 6-12 months. Ben's insurance is expected to be sufficient for rebuilding the house. However, the insurance coverage is not even close to what it will cost to house him and his kids during that length of time, let alone to replace personal items like clothing.

This Go Fund Me is specifically launched to help with living expenses for the next 6-12 months. Funds will go towards rent, replacement clothes, and personal items needed while in temporary housing.

We know friends, family, and neighbours want to come around Ben and the kids and offer support. Together, these financial contributions will mean one less thing to worry about in a time that is likely to be full of stressful decisions and extra work.
