On Sunday the 28th of August my nephew Ben took his harley out for a ride as he does most weekends.
Little did he know he wouldn't be returning home to his family that day.
Ben would just jump on his bike and go wherever it took him. This particular day he headed towards Stanthorpe. This is where it changed his life..... Ben was hit my another vehicle at no fault of his own.
Ben was so severely injured his life was hanging by a thread.
Ben's Fiance Anita and 11week old baby boy Jack was all he was worried about at the time telling his mum to look after them.
Ben was airlifted out of Stanthorpe Sunday afternoon to the PA in Brisbane and nearly lost his life due to blood loss.
Ben is in ICU in an induced coma and has had many surgeries with lots more to come. With the doctors still unsure if his leg can be saved
As Ben and Anita reside in Warwick, Anita has packed up and been in Brisbane since Sunday by Ben's side. Doctors are predicting this could be up to 4 months with lots more operations and rehab.
Anita is currently on Maternity leave and now Ben unable to work the financial burden will be hard with the extra costs of living in Brisbane to be with Ben and medical costs that will come with Ben's recovery.
Any donation no matter how small will help to ease the financial burden they will now have and will be greatly appreciated to try and make Ben's recovery a little less stressful when he wakes up. Thank you
Ben's family would like to especially thank the lovely people from the town of Thulimbah and a lovely man called James who all came to Ben's aid immediately after the accident occured and also anyone else who we may not know about yet. Please feel free to email me if you would like to thank you.
Thank you so much to all the anonymous donations but we would really love to know who you are to thank you personally please.
Words are not enough to express our gratitude to all the emergency services including the RFDS, PARAMEDICS,DOCTORS & NURSES FROM STANTHORPE AND PA HOSPITAL AND POLICE WHO ALL CONTRIBUTED TO SAVING BENS LIFE THAT DAY.
Bless you all
