On the morning of Friday, August 24, 2018, Benjamin McDermott, age 6, was at Horseshoe Valley Resort and was climbing up a 40 foot climbing wall - a child friendly activity. He reached the top, pushed off to belay down and fell down to the gravel ground. He sustained multiple serious injuries including a broken femur, fractures to his neck, spine, ribs, back, pelvis and small tears in his lungs. He was airlifted to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and is currently in a full body cast and neck brace. He continues to have restless sleep as he relives his fall.  Ben's and his family's life was changed forever in a split second. As you can imagine, Ben will require rehabilitation and medical care.

My kids were climbing that wall at the same time and we witnessed this horrific event first hand. We want to help Ben and his family with his recovery.
