Hello, my name is Ben (they/them), and I live in California. For a long time now I've been having to drive with a car with an expired registration due to financial issues and an inability to pass smog due to ongoing issues with my car (which is compounded by my financial issues). I've been trying to save up money for a new car for some time, but have not been able to get even close. More than this, because I've been driving with expired tags, I've had multiple tickets issued, to the total of around $4,873. I am now about to lose driving privileges.

I do not live in an area with great public transportation, and even with the public transportation available does not have any bus or train stop close to where I work. I rely on a car and my ability to legally drive a car to get to my work. Because of this, I am now in a position where I have to try to ask other people for help.

I would like, at the very least, to raise around $4,800 for my tickets to avoid my driving privileges being suspended. I would also like to raise a bit more for the purchase of a new vehicle, which is why I'm asking for $6,000 currently. But even just a little bit would help greatly--I don't expect to raise the full amount of even $4,800, but I would like to try to at least make a good dent in the payments.

I appreciate any help or assistance I can get. I understand there are far more urgent funds to be donating to, and understand if you can't find it within yourself to donate to this cause. But if you can spare anything, or even just share it within your circles, it would mean the world to me.
