Hi, we are firefighters with West Midlands Fire Service.

Recently, Ben, our friend and work colleague was involved in a serious road traffic collision on his way to work.

He is quite badly injured and faces a long road to recovery.

If you would like to help Ben any donation will be gratefully received.

***Further Update*** I have been to see Ben today (7th Oct) and he has improved massively. He may be being discharged tomorrow! He’s enjoyed hearing all of your messages of support and is overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness. 

***Update*** Ben had his operation on Wednesday, which was a success. His injuries include a broken hip, 4 broken ribs, a collapsed lung and memory loss. Initially, he was put in traction but his hip has now been put back in position. 

He said, “Today (1st Oct) is the first time I’ve been out of bed and sat up in a chair. It’s painful but I feel so relieved to be out of the bed.”

The hospital aren’t allowing visits so he’s enjoying receiving texts and is feeling more positive.

He is also aware of the fundraising effort and said, “Wow… I can’t believe it. Thank you all so much.”
