I want to share the story of someone who has been a pillar of strength, love, and support and is one of the most incredible human beings I have in my life, my dad - Ben Rodriguez.

My dad is the type of individual that touches and positively impacts each person he meets. He greets life with a laugh, a joke, and one of the biggest hearts you could ever find. My dad has always been a pillar of strength, humbleness, and an unbreakable force, a man who can figure out anything, fix any machine, and provide the wisest advice for anyone feeling lost or alone. Someone who has had grit and faced any challenge head-on, with an unbreakable force and will, knowing that he will overcome and come out on top.

My dad is currently fighting the biggest battle you could endure: Stage 4 metastatic cancer that originated in his prostate- a very aggressive strain that has spread throughout his body, including his spinal cord. The tumors have compressed parts of his spinal cord, which have affected his ability to walk and created fractures throughout his body, including his back and ribs. This has left him unable to work as he continues to go actively through treatments.

Those of you who know my dad know he is the type of person to give a stranger the shirt off his back to help them. Today, he is the one who needs our support. The financial burden of medical bills, nutritious food, ongoing treatments, and simple day-to-day expenses is overwhelming. Since my dad's diagnosis, as a family, we have poured everything we have to help with his treatments and bills.
