Save Ben's Cancer Treatment & Research from Funding Cuts

This is my friend, Ben.

Ben has stage 4B, Kras G12C colorectal cancer.

Ben was diagnosed last year and is currently receiving treatment through a clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center, funded in part by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and working in conjunction with other medical research hospitals like Baylor. A clinical trial using a revolutionary breakthrough drug, only approved this past year, after successful clinical cancer trials funded by the NIH, NCI, MD Anderson and Sloan Kettering among others.

Under the Trump Administration, the NIH, NCI and HHS have already announced they are being forced to cut funding to a wide array of active grants, clinical trial research and even eliminate entire cancer research areas. Thousands of NIH & HHS personnel have already been fired. 

These cuts will not only affect the grants funding Ben's treatment, but the tariffs planned for the pharmaceutical industry will also devastate access to life saving medications needed to support these trials.  There is also a current blanket freeze on all NIH grants, pending their review, which will affect ALL future research for patients like Ben, threatening to strangle the research pipeline he and other patients like him so desperately need.

If things continue on this current path, the funding for the clinical trial that provides Ben's treatment will be delayed, or even cut completely and the chances for future breakthroughs eliminated. 

We would need to raise $1.3 million to cover the costs of the treatment, drugs, tests, and everything else needed to continue treating Ben's colon cancer so that he does not die before he celebrates his 38th birthday.

What we are asking you for is this:

Help spread the word. We know these are scary times but the more people know that cancer research and treatment is being threatened by the Trump Administration, the better.
