Help Ben Askren Breathe Again — Support His Transplant

Hi, my name is Muhammad Aziz and I’m close family of the Askren family. Many of you know Ben as a fighter, a champion, a loving father and husband, and one of the healthiest people we know. Tragically, Ben has faced a devastating and unexpected battle for his life after a severe lung failure left him on a ventilator and ECMO for weeks.

Despite every effort, Ben’s lungs have not healed, and he is now officially on the transplant list. This is a hopeful but critical turning point, and we are praying he stays strong enough to receive the gift of new lungs. His family has shown incredible courage through countless hospital days, holding onto every small milestone — from Ben opening his eyes to squeezing their hands — while waiting for a miracle.

While Ben’s medical team is working tirelessly to help him recover, the mounting medical bills for prolonged ICU care, ECMO, and now the transplant process have reached a staggering amount. There is still $260,000 needed to cover the remainder of Ben’s medical expenses, including the transplant procedure, post-op rehabilitation, and specialized recovery care.

Ben has given so much to his community and inspired countless people with his dedication, positivity, and resilience. Now, it’s our turn to help him fight this battle and breathe again.
