Help Ben and Liana recover from the Daintree flood

Hello friends, family and anyone keen to support Ben, Liana, Ayana (their 5-year-old daughter) and Teeka (their loyal pooch) in recovering from the recent floods affecting Far North Queensland.

Ben, Liana, and Ayana live in Daintree and were significantly impacted as their home was submerged by flood waters with all their personal belongings. Like many of the residents of the Daintree, Ben & Liana were caught in rapidly rising flood waters in the middle of the night. They left their home with nothing but what they were wearing and each other, and hiked over the mountain in the dark to a neighbouring property. On returning, they have been faced with the reality of the overwhelming damage to their home and what this means for rebuilding their life.

While they do need help, they were very hesitant to reach out on this type of platform. As Ben's sister, I have set up this GoFundMe on their behalf as I know repairs to their home and the replacement of irreparable mechanical and electrical items (all of which are not insured) will come with a significant financial burden.
