Benjamin, my youngest son, has been struggling with mental illness for six years. Despite his strong work ethic and working two jobs before he became ill, he now faces challenges that have left him feeling stuck and isolated. At only 26 years old, Ben has shown incredible resilience, but the journey has not been easy. For the first time in a long while, he is excited about the possibility of living in and working at Rose Hill, a residential center that offers compassionate care, psychiatry, and group therapy in a farm setting. Caring for the animals and being a part of a supportive community could help Ben move forward and begin getting well.
The funds raised will be used for Ben’s housing, therapy (individual and group), medicine reviews with a psychiatrist, and food at Rose Hill. Even after financial aid, the costs add up quickly, with a daily rate that remains significant. Unlike other illnesses, mental health challenges can be difficult to diagnose and treat. A long-term facility like Rose Hill will give the staff the opportunity to observe Ben over time and find the most effective medicines for him. Beyond medical care, Rose Hill will offer Ben a place to call home and the ability to work and make new friends, in a beautiful rural setting, helping to ease the loneliness and stigma that often comes with mental illness.
We are reaching out for support to help Ben access the care and community he needs at Rose Hill. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in his journey towards recovery. Thank you for considering helping Ben find hope and healing.
