Hedda Falcon has always been the one others depend on—a devoted teacher, loving mother, and the heart of our family. She has spent her life caring for others, both in her classroom and at home.

On February 11, what was meant to be a routine outpatient procedure became a life-altering medical crisis. Due to a medical error, her intestines were accidentally punctured and left undiagnosed for days. By February 16, she required emergency surgery.

Since then, she has been hospitalized for nearly two months and has endured serious complications, including a major surgical wound, pulmonary embolism, fluid in her lungs, severe nerve damage in her leg, and multiple other ongoing medical challenges. She is now facing a long and difficult road to recovery, including relearning how to walk, stand on her own, and really just regaining her independence as a whole.

To sum it up,

Due to medical error, my mother has been hospitalized for close to two months and continues to fight through life-threatening complications and ongoing recovery. She remains in the hospital, working to regain basic functions.

This has been a nightmare for her physically, emotionally, and financially. Unable to work and always the head of our household, the burden has quickly become overwhelming.

We are asking for help to cover her mounting medical bills, ongoing care after discharge, rehabilitation and physical therapy, as well as daily living expenses during her recovery.
