Hilda was adopted from a rescue to be my medical alert service dog for my neurological condition. Over the past 4 years she has also been my 24/7 companion, protector, hell raiser, and the reason to get up in the morning. Known for her inability to keep her tongue in her mouth, she has served as the unofficial mascot for CASA’s Fosturing Futures program, where she has helped countless children in crisis feel loved and inspired.
Today her vet told us that her cancer has returned. She has had 2 surgeries earlier this year and we had hoped the cancer wouldn’t return. This tumor grew fast, I only noticed it 10 days ago and I had to wait for my SSDI to be deposited to take her in and have it checked out.
I was able to use savings to pay for her previous surgeries, but I need to ask for help this time. Last month was tighter than usual and I was barely able to pay for groceries. I spent most of the month starving myself.
So I’m asking you to contribute whatever you can to pay for her surgery. If she’s ever made you smile, or brightened your day, please consider throwing in a few bucks.
Thanks,
Pat & Hilda
