Help Beloved Baba Fight Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
Dear friends, colleagues, and fellow #FuckCancer comrades,
My duties as my father's primary caregiver have ramped up. He has been in severe pain for the past month, and after half a dozen doctor appointments, we now know he has Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
As his health declined, I’ve had to drop everything, from my work at the Chicago Reader and DePaul University, to anything I could do to take care of my own mental and physical well-being during this time. My dad’s health is declining rapidly, and the support we thought we had collapsed around us.
It is up to me to coordinate and fund our emergency trip to Los Angeles from Chicago to start chemotherapy immediately. He is already established as a patient at City of Hope Hospital in LA from previous fights with cancer. He's beloved by the doctors there, and miracle studies previously saved his life. Now we need financial help connecting him again to care that is comfortable, kind, and familiar.
With thanks,
Yasmin Zacaria Mikhaiel
