Help Bella’s Medical Bill
Donation protected
My in-law’s 3 year old puppy Bella broke her leg back in June 2020. She received surgery immediately, but the $5,000 bill was an extreme financial strain for us (I've been laid off twice this year due to COVID cutbacks at both companies, and am currently looking for employment). Her recovery after the surgery was fast and we thought everything was back to normal.
Two days ago, she started licking the 3 month old incision, but we didn't think much of it. However, today we noticed that she bit open her leg (must have happened overnight) and the bone plate from the surgery became exposed. We immediately brought her into the emergency vet hospital and they said that we need to bring her to a surgeon to have the entire plate removed. We're still looking into the cause of the problem, the E.R doctor mentioned that the original surgery might have been performed poorly.
The emergency visit bill was over $1,000 and the upcoming surgery will be another ~$6,000. If she doesn't get treated, the worse case is death... and if not death, her leg will need to be amputated... We don’t know how we can afford this treatment. We want to see Bella live out the rest of her life.
Any bit of help is deeply appreciated, just sharing this story would mean a lot to us. Bella belongs to my retiring father-in-law and we are doing all we can to ease his burden. Thank you so much.
