Our 2 year old boy, Bellamy, was taken to the vet last week after noticing that he was frequenting the litter box. After x-rays and an overnight stay, the vet determined that the cause was a possible foreign body that was thankfully, not causing any obstruction. We wanted to see if it would pass on its own so he was sent home. The total cost was $940.

The night he came home, however, he continued to frequent the litter box again, and we discovered blood in his urine. We took him to the ER, where they did more extensive tests, and because the first vet never sent us the x-rays, they had to be retaken at the ER. Thankfully, there was no bacteria or crystals in his urine, and no blockage in his bladder. The ER vet diagnosed him with sterile cystitis, and concluded that the blood was stressed induced. The ER costed us $1,400, and we had to take out a credit card with CareCredit to cover it.

We were given $1,500 in credit, so that card is almost maxed out. Bellamy is going to need following appointments, to check on the possible foreign body, and to manage his cystitis. We are a low-income family, so this has been a huge strain on us. Any amount is much appreciated.
