Hi
We are Lorien and Abbie and we have owned Bella from she was a puppy in 2015!
Its been an incredible 10 years of good health and fun. Lots of walks and food and more recently lots of camping trips.
unfortunately on the evening 12th July, we left our campsite to go for a walk at the beach however on arrival, Bella didnt seem well. After a short walk and several attempts to get her to drink (she was very slobbery which is unusual and panting a lot) we realised she is seriously unwell and after feeling her stomach we realised she may have bloat. After consulting with an emergency vet locally she was rushed in and had her x rays done. It was confirmed. Our poor girl was full of gas and her stomach had twisted. She was so close to death. We discussed her long term quality of life and the vet felt should she recover she would be ok. We decided to go ahead and save our girl.
luckily bella came through the procedure and is recovering well however discovered that our insurance doesn’t cover the whole amount in fact, it just covers a third of the £5800 bill. It was purchased when she was a pup in 2015. We were a little naive in what we purchased and as many people know, your sum doesn't really track inflation. This means we have to cover the rest. Additionally she will require more care and medication as she recovers. We have scraped together as much as we can and the insurance have paid their part but we are still a little short and have nothing for her medication and follow up procedures such as removing her sutures.
any help from you lovely people would be amazing in relieving the stress of the situation and helping bella with the care she needs
