Help Bella Walk Again – Support Her Surgery & Recovery

Hi everyone,

My name is Remya and I’m the proud dog mom of Bella, our sweet, playful 4-month-old Shepadoodle. Today, I’m sharing her story with a hopeful heart and asking for your support in helping her get the care she urgently needs.

Around two months ago, Bella suffered a serious fall that left her with a painful leg injury. We acted quickly, and she underwent her first surgery to begin repairing the damage. Bella was just 2 months old and has been so brave during recovery and is since on strict crate rest—confined at an age when she should be out exploring, socializing, and enjoying her puppyhood.

We were heartbroken to learn that Bella’s recovery isn’t over—she now needs a second, more complex surgery to properly repair her leg and give her the chance to live a healthy, active life. Her bone has grown more than it should and is now pressing against another bone, hindering her movement. Doctors say it’s a rare scenario and that a second surgery is necessary. Without it, she may face long-term pain, mobility issues, or even permanent disability.

We’ve done everything we could to support her. Our family has already spent several thousand dollars on her first surgery, emergency vet care, medications, follow-ups, multiple scans and recovery supplies. Now, with a second operation and weeks of rehab ahead, we’ve reached the point where we simply can’t do it alone.

Bella will also need physiotherapy to rebuild her strength and behavioral support to help her adjust after weeks of isolation and limited movement. These extra steps are essential to her full recovery—physically and emotionally.

Bella is such a gentle soul and shares a beautiful bond with her big fur brother, Goofy, who misses her energy and playfulness. Our kids keep asking when Bella will be able to play with them again—especially my little girl who calls her sister, and it breaks our hearts to see them worry about her. We just want to give her the best chance to grow up strong, pain-free, and happy.

Giving Bella up is not an option for us. We love her deeply, and despite how overwhelming this journey has been, we’re committed to doing everything we can for her. We don’t want her ending up in a shelter, especially knowing how uncertain and difficult those environments can be for injured or recovering dogs. She’s family — and we just want to give her the life she deserves.

Here’s how the funds will be used to support Bella’s full recovery:

• Second surgery (orthopedic): ~$5,500 – $6,000 estimated by hospital

• Follow-up care: weekly dressing changes, sedation as she is hyperactive & rechecks (4 sessions @ $250 each): ~$1,000

• Physiotherapy sessions (6–8 weeks): ~$1,200 – $1,500

• Behavioral support & anxiety meds (crate recovery): ~$300 – $500

• Medicines: ~$300

Updates:

We had her surgery done by arranging some personal loan. She is recovering and Surgeon has advised there could be a chance given the current situation that she would limp her whole life and later in life develop arthritis condition, however, physiotherapy might change the situation.

Thanks again for your prayers and donations, and I encourage, appreciate and accept more donations towards her recovery that will be spent towards her physio and behavioural correction. She was crated/ confined strictly during this recovery and had developed biting habit and aggressiveness, way she resorted to release her pent-up frustration. However, she is a very loving, sweet girl with high intelligence. With some help from behaviourist, she will be able to surpass this phase and turn into an amazing companion our family knows she is capable of.
