After a tragic accident left Bella paralyzed, her only hope is urgent spinal surgery. A song from my late father reminded me that miracles happen when a community comes together — and I’m praying this time, it’s for Bella.
Bella is a sweet, gentle young dog who has stolen my heart — and now she desperately needs our help.
Bella isn’t my dog, but we’ve always shared a special bond. She lights up every time she sees me, and I love spending weekends with her and my dog, Rex. The three of us spend our days outdoors, full of joy, wagging tails, and endless love.
This past Sunday, Bella was her happiest self — running, playing, and soaking up every moment. I brought her back home Monday night. Then, Tuesday morning, tragedy struck.
When Bella heard a car approaching, she thought it was me. In her excitement, she tried to run under the fence to greet me… but in that heartbreaking moment, she injured her spine. The accident left her paralyzed from the waist down.
At first, I prayed that acupuncture or laser therapy could help. But after multiple consultations with veterinarians, surgeons, and radiologists, we learned the truth: Bella’s injury is severe. The only chance she has to ever walk again is emergency spinal surgery — and it needs to happen immediately.
The first hospital quoted $13,500, an impossible amount for Bella’s family. Then, by a miracle, we found a compassionate surgeon willing to do the operation for $4,653.
Bella’s loving family has already spent more than $3,000 on vet visits, hospital care, X-rays, and CT scans — costs that are completely separate from the $4,653 surgery fee. They’ve done everything in their power to help her and have now reached the end of what they can afford.
I haven’t slept all night — I’ve been crying and praying for a miracle to happen. And last night, something truly special happened.
As I sat in the quiet, the song “Lambada” started playing — a song I used to dance to with my father over 30 years ago. It stopped me in my tracks. You see, over 35 years ago, my dad needed an emergency open-heart surgery and required blood donors immediately. The moment our town heard the news, neighbors and strangers alike gathered in buses and rushed to the hospital to donate blood. They saved his life.
Hearing Lambada last night felt like a message from heaven — my dad’s way of telling me that everything will be okay, that our beautiful community will come together once again to help someone in need. This time, it’s Bella.
I recently lost my job, but I couldn’t stand by and let Bella suffer — so I decided to put the $4,653 on my credit card and pray that our community can come together to help cover it.
This morning, one amazing neighbor sent $1,000 for Bella. Another gave $200. That leaves $3,453 left to raise.
Please — if you can, chip in anything you’re able. Every dollar brings Bella closer to standing, walking, and playing again.
She deserves that chance. She deserves to chase her ball, feel the grass under her paws, and live the joyful life she had just days ago.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, for sharing, and for believing in Bella’s recovery. Together, we can give her the miracle she needs.
❤️ Please help Bella walk again. ❤️
